The Washington Senators relocated to Minnesota in 1960 after 59 years in the Capital. Although based in Minneapolis, the franchise re-branded by assuming the name of the State, with the “Twins” representation intended so as not to discriminate between the twin cities of Minneapolis and St.Paul. Since 1961, the Twins have won two World Series titles (1987 & 1991) and took the American League Pennant in 1965.
