The Gold Glove is awarded at the end of each Major League season to the player in each of the nine fielding positions to have the most superior individual fielding performance. In total eighteen are awarded as there are separate awards for the American and National League. Three are awarded in each league for the outfield positions but they do not differentiate between right, centre or left field. The most won in each position are as follows:
