I do not profess to fully understand the game of baseball so anything written in this blog should be taken with a pinch of salt – I’m British!

They say America has no history but baseball does – a glorious one. Whilst on vacation in California in May 2001, I attended my first Major League game at the Oakland Coliseum in which the A’s, who became my adopted team, were downed by the Blue Jays in 10 innings.

I was immediately hooked and I have enjoyed reading about the history of the America’s “national pastime” ever since.

This blog is merely intended to share some of my favourite statistics and quirky incidents from the game’s illustrious past.
